One way that the KITS staff has been involved in interagency collaboration has been in the ongoing development, revision and dissemination of best practice documents in early childhood and early childhood special education.

The Kansas Early Learning: Building the Foundation for Successful Children document provides a framework for understanding and communicating a common set of developmentally appropriate expectations for young children within a context of shared responsibility and accountability for helping children meet these expectations.
The Quality Standards for Early Childhood Education for Children Birth Through Age Eight created a vision for early care and education providers and families, to make certain that children have access to high-quality and developmentally appropriate programs.
